Is it still safe for employees to work on an offshore installation?

Mining companies have taken many measures to prevent the coronavirus from spreading. The Dutch State Supervision of Mines (SSM) has verified these measures against the guidelines set out by the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). Only the most necessary work is being carried out to reduce the number of employees to a minimum. In addition, arrangements have been made so that, if someone is nevertheless suspected of being contagious, the individual in question will be taken to shore by helicopter. NOGEPA, the industry organisation, has arranged a helicopter specifically kitted out for this, while extra measures have also been taken at the airport to tend to any patients.
