What if employees are unable to take the required training courses?

To be allowed to work in the exploration and production of minerals or terrestrial heat, employees must regularly take training courses. However, with the training institutes closedown, some employees will not be able to take refresher courses on time. Since the training institutes are closed, this is a case of force majeure. As long as this situation persists, the Dutch State Supervision of Mines (SSM) will not enforce the requirement to take refresher courses on time. As soon as the training institutes reopen, the training courses must be taken as soon as possible. However, it is still too early to say within which period of time this will be required. This will partially depend on the number of individuals that quickly need training in relation to the available training capacity.
